Don Thomas leads talent acquisition, Industrial Chemicals Team of Key Corporate Services
Most features here introduce newcomers, but I am excited to put a spotlight on a veteran with us since 2012! Key Corporate Services is a leading recruiting firm in the industrial chemicals industry. Don Thomas, our talent acquisition leader in this practice area, is a Hoosier native. This ’93 Indiana University graduate possesses a creative, entrepreneurial spirit. An adept custom carpenter while still in high school, this creative thinker was using his hands toward woodworking designs. His BS in Science Education paved the way for him into medicine, where his fascination with the field led him to complete the MCAT. Although his interest in the field didn’t urge him to practice medicine, Don was eventually led to a Medical Sourcing company in Bloomington.
The position allowed him to work with people and provide a path for those individuals to greener pastures, which he says has created “long-term relationships” and “trust with both my clients and my candidates.” Don insists that his professional drive is rooted in assisting individuals with balancing their life and careers, and the trust he cultivates provides the “gut-level conversations that truly define the pain… often hidden by one’s desire to continue to perform under less than desirable conditions while maintaining a positive outlook.” He continued with them for three years before starting his own firm, allying himself with PracticewiseMD and specializing in healthcare talent. He found and cultivated medical talent for Emergency Medicine, Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine, Gastroenterology, as well as Neurology and Neurosurgery across the country. During a period of transition, Don returned to his roots: his hands.
He established yet another company geared toward remodeling which he maintained for several years. Customer interaction was in play once again, and he most enjoyed the interaction and overall satisfaction his clients conveyed. Yet, after years outside the recruiting industry, Don’s interest was rekindled when he heard of an executive recruiting company making waves in the Chemical Industry. All at once he made his move and returned to the recruiting world to Key Corporate Services, where he has carved a place for himself applying his considerable recruiting experience and scientific knowledge in the Industrial Chemical Industry.
